Trials

This life is full of trials and hard times.  It's also full of wonderful and amazing times.  Thank goodness for good times because if we didn't have them it would be even harder to get through the bad times.  Since I use this blog as my journal I am going to include good and bad because that's real life.  The day after we got home from San Fransisco, Jayson went back to his shop and found that an employee he had hired about 6 weeks ago had written out his own check and taken a bunch of Jayson's expensive Snap On tools and left town.  The guy had come from Oregon with Idaho plates and a Nevada driver's license and was pretty rough around the edges, but a very good mechanic.  He was 47 with a 21 year old girlfriend and a two year old and new baby, basically living out of his mini van.  He applied and Jayson interviewed him and felt like he could help him get on his feet.  He put him up in a motel for a week and also let him charge parts to his account at the parts store to repair his vehicle.  Jayson was a little uneasy but always wants to help and do good.  He has always been really trusting and has been taken advantage of because of his goodness.  The guy made out with over $10,000 and Jayson continues to find more things missing.  We had to close our business account and start a new one and Jayson has been in contact with the police, but I'm sure he is long gone.  Jayson has been really hurt and upset that someone would do that to him after all he did for him.  I keep thinking about what we should do and how we are supposed to treat others no matter what they do to us.  It's hard with the world we live in to be Christlike because there are so many bad things around us and so many scary situations.  Sometimes it's hard to see the good around us.  This has been an eye opener for Jayson to be more cautious and not so trusting, but also that we have to try to do good and be kind to others no matter what.  We have both looked at it and know it could have been a lot worse.  Our daughter Tianna showed up at the shop while he was there taking things and so did another employee later on.  He was pretty smooth and they didn't suspect anything, but we don't know what he might have done had he actually been caught.  We are just thankful they are safe.  Our money and tools can be replaced but lives can't be.  We are so thankful for a Heavenly Father that loves us that helps us feel peace even through hard times.
