Last Day In Guatemala

Today is our last full day in Guatemala.  We attended church at the local branch and the orphans were there.  They were all so cute in their church clothes and after church they were so happy so see all of us.  Alexson came and jumped in Jayson's arms and put both his arms around his neck.  I was really emotional at church.  Even though I couldn't understand most of what was said, I could feel the spirit strong.  It was fast Sunday, so we listened to testimonies in Spanish and I was so sad to be leaving the good people and poor children.  I wanted to take all the orphans home and give them a better life and many of the women.  It's probably a good thing the United States is not allowing adoption from Guatemala right now, otherwise, we would have come home with at least two little boys and at age 45 I don't think I could handle it.   After church, we packed up and said good bye to the 3 sweet ladies that cooked for us all week and cleaned up after us and headed on the long 3 to 4 hour drive back to Guatemala City.  Once we got to Guatemala City we checked in to our beautiful hotel and went out to dinner at a really nice place and the food and treats were amazing.  I think after eating tortillas all week regular food tastes better than normal.  After dinner Jayson and I were exhausted and we have to meet in the lobby at 3:30 in the morning, so we went to bed and Jayden hung out with some of the kids from our group down at the pool.
Alexson was our favorite.  He is missing
a bone in his skull, so he has to wear this
helmet all the time to protect his brain.  We
both wanted to bring him home with us.

These sweet ladies took care of us all week and
when Jayden got sick the main littlest lady, Wana,
took care of him.  I loved watching them make
tortilla's and prepare our meals.

This little guy was another one that I wanted
to bring home.  His name is Victor.

All of us walking down the path to Hugo's home.
We had to carry tools back where they are stored
on his property.

Hugo's chicken coop.  Poor chicken's couldn't even move in here.

Jayden saying good bye to Hugo and his cute family.

Our group having breakfast at a nice restaurant.

We always saw people carrying heavy loads.

Most things are carried on heads.

You always see people walking up and down the hillsides.
Most people don't own vehicles, so we would stop
and offer rides when we could and sometimes
they would even climb up on top of the van where
the luggage goes.

Dalin saying good bye to the boys at the orphanage.
