Time With Teisha Up North

Teisha and I took a fun little getaway on Thursday.  Jayson asked if I could take something to the machine shop in Salt Lake for him and I was happy to take a little road trip with my girl.  It just worked out because BYU was playing their homecoming football game Friday night and Teisha's father in-law buys 10 tickets for each home game and if they have any extra's he invites us sometimes.  Teisha and I headed out Thursday morning and went straight to Salt Lake to the machine shop and then it was off to City Creek to do some shopping and have lunch.  After that we decided to go tour the Joseph Smith memorial building and the conference center.  Usually we don't take time to do those things while we are in Salt Lake and it had been years.  We also went into the two tabernacles and looked around and the visitor center.  I have been wanting to go to a place called Gardener Village, so we headed over to West Jordan and were able to spend an hour.  We feel in love with that place.  It's a bunch of boutique shops and fun stores with lots of neat things for kids.  Afterwards we went to Leatherby's for sundae's (just what I needed) and then to our hotel.  What a great and fun day with no stress.  We were both exhausted though and Teisha said on her step o meter we walked over 4 miles.

The first tabernacle.

Inside of the first tabernacle.

From the temple to City Creek.

Walking into City Creek.  It's
always so beautiful.

A room on the first floor of the Joseph Smith
Memorial building that looks just like a place
in Europe and the European's can't figure
out how it is so exact to theirs because
it was back in the early 1900's.

I love this room.  So beautiful!

This chapel is on the 2nd floor of the
Joseph Smith Memorial building and
there are actually 5 wards attending church
there now and they are mostly missionaries.

2nd Floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial.

Looking from the 2nd floor down.

What a beautiful building and I love the
huge statue of Joseph Smith.

This map shows all the temples in the world.

Looking down at the temple from the Joseph
Smith Memorial building.  What an amazing
view.  So beautiful.

It was a little breezy today while we were taking pictures.

The Salt Lake temple is so beautiful!

The tabernacle that I grew up knowing and
actually attended a session of conference in
while I was in college.

The tabernacle has over 11,000 pipes for
the organ and the tabernacle choir still
practices here a few times a week.

The conference center from the top row.  It seats 21,000 people
and is always full for general conference.

The conference center has 7,750 pipes
for the organ.  This place is massive.

Looking out from the roof of the conference center.

I love all the beautiful trees and many fall colors.

This wall is on top of the conference center and these images
were sand blasted into this rock.  A lot of talent and
creativity.

This water fountain is also on the top of the conference center.

Sure love this beautiful girl of mine and
spending the day with her was amazing.
