Our Two Beautiful Girls Had A Birthday

Our girls had a birthday Saturday and since they are married I don't plan anything on their actual birthday anymore because I figure that's a day to spend with their husbands.  We usually do a party with each of their favorite cakes and I cook something that they both love or one meal one Sunday and one the next.  This year I am having health problems and wasn't feeling well Saturday, so I decided to keep it simple.  A month ago I made tacos and they were a huge hit, so that's what we had, with spanish rice, and fruit salad.  This was also the first year since we left Lovell that Grandpa and Grandma Thompson got to help celebrate the girls.  I love that our girls have always been best friends and have loved sharing their special day.  When they were growing up I always made 3 cakes and had 3 parties every year on the same day.  I did that for about 12 years for each and then we had a few extra parties here and there.  I miss those days in ways, but not in others.  Since their birthday is summertime we had one party in the morning, one in the afternoon, and the one with grandparents and aunts and uncles that evening.  We are so blessed to have such beautiful, talented, smart, kind, loving, energetic, and fun daughters.  They were both so easy to raise.
It's a joint effort to light all these candles!
